STORE OWNER GUIDE / FIRST EDITION
Find the right order to work on next
In this guide
ToteCue’s worker views are designed around ready work and a clear next step. Use order age, packing targets and selected shipping methods to make the next order easier to find.
Understand the recommended list
Recommended lists use oldest-first ordering. When priority shipping is enabled, orders using your selected shipping methods appear first, with oldest-first ordering inside each group.
For example, a newer Express order can appear before an older Standard order. The older order remains visible through its age and packing-target status. Workers can still choose another ready order.
Highlight aging orders
- An administrator opens Settings in ToteCue.
- Enable the packing target and choose 1 to 90 days.
- Choose Save changes.
- Check the worker overview for past-target orders and the oldest age.
Packing target is an age highlight. Priority shipping puts selected methods first when enabled. They are separate settings.
The worker overview shows how many orders are past the target and the age of the oldest. Use View priority orders to find the matching work. The target helps surface overdue work; it does not promise a shipping deadline or automatically complete an order.
Prioritize Express or other shipping methods
- Open Orders and choose Refresh orders.
- In Settings → Shipping, choose Update shipping method list.
- Find the relevant method, such as Express or Next Day, and select it for priority.
- Turn on Pack priority shipping first.
- Choose Save changes.
The method list is based on shipping methods used on orders saved in ToteCue, rather than every rate configured in Shopify. Similar method names can refer to different shipping services, so select the entries your orders use.
If a method is missing
Refresh orders and update the method list again after an order using that method has been imported. If more orders are waiting to be refreshed, return shortly and update the list again. Searching filters the displayed list; it does not fetch other Shopify shipping rates.
Keep the workflow focused
The aim is to simplify fulfillment without increasing the time spent on each order. ToteCue brings ready work and task-specific information forward instead of exposing every detail of Shopify’s broader order screen.
Choose photo and label requirements deliberately for your operation. They add useful verification steps, so the actual effect on time depends on your products, team and settings.
You are done when
With priority shipping on, selected matching methods lead recommended work, oldest-first inside each group. With it off, the list is oldest-first without the shipping-priority group. Workers may choose other ready work.
If an age highlight is missing, check the saved target and imported order ages. A packing target does not force older Standard orders ahead of selected Express orders.
